I saw a girl by the sea
I asked her name & she said to me
Labels confine, let’s just be
For now, please call me Synchronicity
Just then a wave crashed on the shore
In the distance, the slam of a car door
I turned to ask to see her more
But she was gone and my heart was sore
I came back each day and I stood there
I stared at the ocean as the wind blew my hair
I cried out Alas! Life is not fair!
If there is a God he surely doesn’t care
I breathed in the breeze and quite suddenly
A fragrance of love began to fill me
I turned with a start as a hand touched my knee
It was her; Sweet Synchronicity
She said “I saw you each and every day”
I stayed afar because that is my way
I leave most things be where they lay
But in your case, I could not stay away
